TeamSnap has a free plan for teams under 15 players, paid for with ads. Tracking who's available is in Premium, from $10.83 a month billed yearly. Rally is free for any roster, with availability and no ads.

Can I get a TeamSnap-style app for my team for free?

Rally does the schedule, availability, practices and calendar sync for free. It's a web app rather than an App Store app, so it has no push notifications or chat; games arrive through the phone's own calendar instead.

How do I switch from TeamSnap to Rally?

Create a team, then add the schedule: connect your league if Rally has it, or add the games and practices yourself (a practice can go on many dates at once). Share the invite link and players join from it.

Does my team need a league on Rally?

No. Rally works for a team on its own. If your league is on Rally, or is one of the BC leagues Rally reads, connect it and the games keep themselves up to date.

A free alternative to TeamSnap

TeamSnap's free plan stops at 15 players and leaves out availability tracking, the thing most managers want it for. Rally is free with any roster size: players mark the games they can't make, you see who's coming, and every game is in their phone's calendar. TeamSnap has a native app with chat; Rally doesn't.

Where Rally is different

Availability is free, for any roster size. On TeamSnap it's Premium, and the free plan is for teams under 15.
No ads for anyone. TeamSnap's paid plans remove ads for owners and managers only.
Anyone on the team can copy the calendar link from their phone. TeamSnap's subscribe link comes from the web version, and its help says changes can take up to 24 hours to arrive.
Leagues are free too: fixtures, standings and a page for every team, where TeamSnap quotes clubs and leagues.
Ask Claude, ChatGPT or Grok "who's coming Saturday?" and it answers from Rally.

Where TeamSnap is better

Native iOS and Android apps with push notifications and in-app messaging.
Registration, payments, websites and streaming for clubs, all from one company.
Parents often already have the app from another team.

Who should stay with TeamSnap

Your club already runs registration, payments and its website on TeamSnap, or your team wants push notifications and chat in one app and is happy to pay for Premium.
