Rally in your AI assistant
Rally keeps amateur sports teams and competitions organised: schedules, practices, who's coming, who rests, standings and calendar feeds. Connected to Claude, ChatGPT or Grok, your assistant reads and updates your Rally teams and competitions for you — “who's coming Saturday?”, “I can't make Thursday”, “make a round robin for our rec league”.
What you need
A Rally account — free; your assistant offers to create one the first time you connect, with email and password or Google. A team to manage or play on, or a league, cup or tournament to run, comes next: you can create both from the assistant.
Connect Claude
The address is https://rally.inputlogic.dev/api/mcp.
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors. Find Rally in the directory, or choose Add custom connector and paste the address.
- Choose Connect. Rally opens: sign in (or create an account) and choose Allow.
- Ask Claude something from the list below.
On a Team or Enterprise plan, an organisation owner adds custom connectors once, under Admin settings → Connectors, and everyone in the organisation can then connect their own Rally account. In Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http rally https://rally.inputlogic.dev/api/mcp, then /mcp to sign in.
Connect ChatGPT or Grok
- ChatGPT: add Rally from the plugin directory, or turn on Developer mode under Settings → Connectors → Advanced, choose Create, paste the address and pick OAuth.
- Grok: on grok.com/connectors, choose New connector → Custom and paste the address.
What your assistant may do
Signing in, you see what the assistant is asking for, and it acts as you: it can reach exactly the teams and competitions you can, and change only what you could change on the site.
- Read (
rally:read): your teams and competitions, their schedules and practices, who's going, standings, and fixture previews. - Make changes (
rally:write): mark availability, add games, practices and players, pick who rests, build and run the competitions you own. An assistant connected read-only is asked to reconnect before it changes anything.
Some things always wait for you:
- Nothing goes public by itself. A new competition is private; fixtures added to a published one stay drafts until you publish them; and publishing needs you to confirm the competition's name.
- Deleting a team or a competition needs its exact name. Claude asks before any tool that removes or replaces data.
- A fixture list from a PDF or a photo is previewed first, so misread names and duplicates show before anything is saved.
Things to ask
Playing on a team
- “Who's coming to our next game?”
- “I can't make Saturday's game, I'm working.”
- “When's our next practice?”
Managing a team
- “Start a team called Riverside FC and add practices every Thursday at 7pm until June.”
- “Rest two players for next week's game, but keep Priya in.”
- “Follow our VISL division schedule.”
Running a competition
- “Make a round robin for these six teams, Sundays from May 4th at Merle Logan Field.”
- “Here's the fixture PDF — enter it into the competition.”
- “Kings FC beat Rovers 2-1 in week 2. Update it and show me the standings.”
Disconnecting
Remove Rally from your assistant's connector settings, or sign in to Rally and choose Disconnect under Connected in the account menu's “Connect an AI assistant”. It loses access straight away; a token it already holds stops working within the hour.
